Private Art Gallery Modern Gallery Design
Our client needed a fitting structure for a private art collection, a space that would showcase both the art and the stunning mountain setting. One challenge was to design a structure that fit well into the environment (and with the client’s existing nearby home). Another challenge was to create fitting space for the client’s art collection without detracting from the art. The answer was a gallery built into the mountainside that draws heavily on the simple, elegant lines of modern architecture. The gallery has rooms and wall space of varied intriguing shapes and sizes to highlight the client’s pieces. It includes two large gallery spaces for a rotating art collection as well as an art library. The structure was built using sustainable cast-in-place concrete construction and features a zinc and green roof with prairie grass and wildflowers.
