Two Creeks Luxury House Design - Vail, CO
A client wanted to build a summer home on a small lot in East Vail that sits at the intersection of the Gore and Bighorn Creeks. The challenge was to build a home that would meet the client’s needs on a piece of land that was small and not ideal for building. Kyle and his team accepted the challenge.
The client worked with us in a fun and creative process to design a home that made the best use of the lot space. We worked through different ideas, always remaining meticulous about staying within a tight footprint that worked with the land.
The result is a modest home that uses modern design principles and extensive use of glass to create spaciousness. A wall of glass in the kitchen/dining area showcases a stunning and peaceful view of the surrounding trees and the creek. The dining area also features a table we designed to fit perfectly in the space. Architectural elements like the kitchen fixtures and the fireplace, give the home an elegance that is both simple and luxurious.
The five-bedroom home includes a master suite on the main floor, allowing the client to enjoy main-floor living, with additional suites for children and guests upstairs. The home opens onto the creek, which can be heard throughout the home.
This home demonstrates that a situation that presents constraints can yield some of the most creative and beautiful designs.
