The New House Vacation Home Architecture - Vail, CO
This home was designed after working closely with five family members to understand their desires and hopes for their vacation home, located on a site where they had originally built in 1963. The mid-century modern aesthetic gives the home a fresh simplicity that is both elegant and unfussy. Sustainability was a high priority for this client, and the home reflects that priority in everything from the use of sustainable wood, parts and pieces from the original home to high-efficiency lighting to the rooftop wildflower garden. Built into a hillside, the home appears as an unobtrusive addition to the landscape dotted with spruce and aspen trees, but the inside is spacious with plenty of room for gatherings with family and friends.
